How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top (Apple ID)
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find Refresher and tap it
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

Your premium features will remain active until the end of your current billing period.

How do I request a refund?

Since all purchases are processed by Apple, refund requests must be made through Apple:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find the Refresher purchase and select Report a Problem
How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID and should restore automatically. If it does not:

  1. Open Refresher
  2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
  3. Scroll down and tap Restore Purchases

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID that was used for the original purchase.

My data is not syncing across devices

Refresher uses iCloud to sync your sessions and preferences. To troubleshoot:

  1. Ensure iCloud is enabled: Settings → Apple ID → iCloud
  2. Make sure Refresher is enabled under iCloud apps
  3. Ensure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID
  4. Check that you have available iCloud storage
  5. Connect to WiFi and wait a few minutes — iCloud sync can take time

Note: iCloud sync requires an active internet connection and may take a few minutes for changes to propagate.

How does heart rate tracking work?

Refresher reads heart rate data from Apple HealthKit during breathing sessions. This requires:

  • An Apple Watch paired with your iPhone
  • HealthKit permission granted to Refresher (requested during onboarding or in Settings → Health → Refresher)

Heart rate data is stored only on your device and in your personal iCloud account. It is never sent to our servers.

What breathing techniques are available?

Refresher offers several evidence-based techniques:

  • Box Breathing (4-4-4-4) — used by Navy SEALs for calm focus
  • 4-7-8 Breathing — developed by Dr. Andrew Weil for relaxation
  • Coherent Breathing (5.5-5.5) — optimizes heart rate variability
  • Wim Hof Method — power breathing with breath retention
  • Builder — create your own custom breathing patterns

Technique customization (timing adjustments, round configuration) is available with a premium subscription.

Is my data private?

Yes. Refresher is designed with privacy as a core principle:

  • No account registration required
  • No email collection
  • No third-party analytics SDKs
  • Health data never leaves Apple’s ecosystem
  • Anonymous device ID is not linked to your identity

How do I delete my data?

To delete all your Refresher data:

  • On-device data: Delete the Refresher app from your device
  • iCloud data: Go to Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Refresher, then delete
  • Analytics data: Contact support@overx.ai with your request and we will purge your anonymous analytics data
The app is not working correctly

Try these steps:

  1. Force-close and reopen the app
  2. Make sure you are running the latest version from the App Store
  3. Restart your device
  4. If the issue persists, contact us at support@overx.ai with a description of the problem, your device model, and iOS version
